Industry Update - 8th July 2010

Attn: Shipping Manager

In view of the recently announced increases by the main Australian ports, including towage, pilotage, wharfage and other charges, the shipping lines have subsequently increased their rates.
Unfortunately D&V are not in a position to absorb these, so reluctantly we have to pass these on to the importer/exporter.
The new charges effective 12th July, will be:

IMPORT FCL – SYDNEY / BRISBANE / FREMANTLE
Australian Port Charges – A$462.00 per 20’ and A$633.00 per 40’
LOLO – A$75.00 per 20’ and A$85.00 per 40’
All other charges will remain the same.

IMPORT FCL – MELBOURNE / ADELAIDE
Australian Port Charges – A$447.00 per 20’ and A$645.00 per 40’
LOLO – A$75.00 per 20’ and A$85.00 per 40’
Channel deepening fee no longer applies in Melbourne, so this charge of A$36.00 per 20’ and A$71.00 per 40’ has been removed.
Following on from the above, local destination charges for LCL shipments into all Australian ports will also increase marginally as a result of the shipping line increases.
